December 10, 2025 Business Meeting
- The Area Chair began the meeting with the normal greeting, Serenity Prayer and traditional A.A. openings to include:
- Tradition and Concept XII
- The Group then motioned, second the motion with subsequent discussion on the Area – 11 2026 Budget.
- The Area 11 Treasurer provided the Area – 11 Budget to all GSRs via D19 Secretary for your review.
- That budget was not discussed as it was discussed in full at the Fall Assembly.
- A Vote was taken by the Area – 11 Chair to approve the 2026 Budget as proposed. The vote was 100% approval, and the Area – 11 Budget was passed.
- The Area – 11 Website Ad – Hoc Subcommittee briefed the group on the progress of the Ad Hoc Committee and presented the group with the survey to be sent to all members of the District (Look for the from the Area shortly). Highlights are as follows:
- Ad – Hoc Committee reviewed all Websites in the U.S. and Canada for A.A. and ranked them in five categories. The Top nine are being looked at now for further analysis and recommendations.
- Ad – Hoc Committee then took questions and suggestions from the group.
- The Area – 11 Motion to Alter the Area – 11 Guidelines for submitted changes.
- This motion was not discussed but will be added for the next business meeting.
- The Area – 11 Convention Chair then briefed the group on the convention and the feedback provided:
- The cost was a definite improvement.
- The length of the convention was mixed; some wanted it longer, but some liked it as is. This is under review for 2026.
- There were 400 people signed in at the Convention and many more on line.
- The next Chair was nominated; Melanie W. was nominated and voted in as the 2026 Area – 11 Convention Chair (two people dissented); I voted yes based on her service resume and experience with the 2025 Convention.

- Hannah then briefed the group on the CSCYPAA 2025:
- They are self-supporting
- 450 in attendance
- Many many people had significant length in sobriety; along with a complete newcomer to A.A. where this was their first AA experience.
- The next Chair, Jack K. was put up for the position in 2026; A vote was taken and he was elected (100% vote); I voted yes based again on his service resume and his experience as Alternate for 2025.

- Rompiendo Fronteras 2026 was briefed, but unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish and I did not sign up for the English Translation to this meeting, so I was unable to determine was he said. However, if there is anyone that needs or would like more information on this subject:

- Soberfest 2026 chair has stepped down; so if there is anyone interested in being the Chair, let anyone know ASAP. If there is no Chair there is no Soberfest 2026, so as of now it is not happening.
- Accessibilities
- Record participants in the district that need interpretation
- They ran out of headsets at the Assy, which is a good thing.
- ASL was made to happen for an event that I missed (sorry, she as talking fast) but it was needed.
- Chair was looking for assistance at their next meeting on Tuesday, 16 December. Flyer is coming.

- The rest of the meeting was briefings by the Area Officers, and these are the highlights:
- The Treasurer briefed the November expenses and the current balance. Please see his report provided earlier.
- Overall, the state of the Area – 11 is solid financially.
- Treasurers Report was accepted.
- The Area Registrar briefed the group on the new forms for all new position members and new groups. Either the GSR or the DCM can fill them out, and they can be done on your phone.
- Give all of the updates for the Groups and or GSRs or Officers to Jean for her to update the database, Fellowship Connection.
