District 20 Service Committees

The Accessibilities Committee 

explores, develops, and offers resources to alcoholics with significant barriers to receiving the A.A.message and to participating in our program of recovery. We want A.A. to be available to all alcoholics who reach out for it.

The Alki-Line Committee

collects articles for Connecticut Alki-Line, a semi-annual newsletter published by Area 11.

The Answering Service Committee

works with the Area 11 Answering Service to provide telephone operators to answer phone in questions.

The Archives Committee

collects, organizes and stores historical material relevant to A.A.

The Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC) Committee

 is AA’s official contact with Community. Professionals, including: Health Care Professionals; Mental Health Professionals; Social Workers; Human Resources Professionals; Legal Professionals; Corrections Professionals; Treatment Center Staff; Educators;  Members of the Clergy; Police Officers.

The Corrections Committee

cooperates with institutions throughout the state of Connecticut by arranging meetings and the resources to conduct meetings at Prisons, Jails and Halfway Houses. Meetings are chaired and run by individual AA’s and AA Groups.

Bridging the Gap

is a program designed to forge that essential link between treatment and recovery by providing temporary contacts for alcoholics being released from institutions.

Treatment Center Committee

cooperates with many institutions throughout the state of Connecticut by arranging meetings and the resources to conduct meetings at detoxification units and hospitals. Meetings are chaired and run by individual AA’s and AA Groups. The committee also purchases and distributes AA literature for the patients at these institutions.

The Grapevine Committee

distributes The Grapevine, A.A.'s official monthly magazine, to individuals, A.A. groups and local institutions and seeks articles from local A.A. members.

The Public Information (PI) Committee

carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to the alcoholic who still suffers through the use of the media and public speakers. This committee serves as the central source of information that is made available to the public regarding Alcoholics Anonymous.

The Schedules Committee

gathers information, including meeting changes and new meeting details, and publishes that information on the meeting finder found at ct-aa.org.

Website Committee

helps the Area 11 Website Committee manage the website ct-aa.org.
