2) General Service Representative Pre-Amble (ALL):

  1. a) We are the General Service We are the link in the chain of communication for our

groups with the General Service Conference and the world of A.A. We realize the ultimate

authority is a loving God as he may express Himself in our Group Conscience. As trusted

servants, our job is to bring information to our groups in order that they can reach an informed

group conscience. In passing along this group conscience, we are helping to maintain unity and

strength so vital to our fellowship. Let us, therefore, Have the patience and tolerance to listen

while others share, The courage to speak up when we have something to share, And The wisdom

to do what is right for our group and A.A. as a whole

3) Serenity Prayer (ALL):

  1. a) God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot Change, the courage to change the

things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference

4) Tradition II Dawn: For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority—a loving God as He

may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not

govern. As leaders we do not tell people what to do, we guide them. God is the ultimate authority.

We are servants, not leaders

District 19

General Service Representative Meeting Agenda

Date: 24 March 2026

9) New Business

  1. a) District 19 Movie Night at the Madison Theatre (Steve V). May 17, 10-2

Area committee chairs: PI, Communications, Answering Service Website and Grapevine will be there

to represent their committees. There will be time before and after to share information. D19 would

pay for it so it will be a free event. “My Name is Bill W”. It is 1 hour and 40 minutes long.

Discussion: We go back to our meetings to raise interest. It will be a free event.

A concern was expressed that it is a lot of money for a Sunday afternoon in May that may be difficult

to get people to come.

There was a presentation of the Joe and Charlie tapes that was packed on a Sunday afternoon.

We have been talking about a service event for 4 years and we haven’t done anything so $500 isn’t a

lot of money for a service event

In order to serve you do not have to be from D19 so if we promote it and get people from out of

district, they may become interested in service

Steve will make flyers, contact Area Event person, determine how many people can attend and find

out where information tables can be set up

Motion: Dave made the motion, Amelia seconded. Unanimously approved

b). Rent: The last rent check was written in 2024 for $125. Made a motion to write a check for $150

for rent. Jeff: I’ve been the treasurer for the Sunday night meeting for a long time. I pay $125 per

quarter for the Sunday night meeting. Various members shared that other places do not ask for any

rent. There was a discussion around paying rent as this meeting has done in the past.

Dave will send a check for $250 for 2025 and 2026 rent as budgeted.

10) Committee Reports (District Sub Committee Chairs):

  1. a) Answering Service: Jeff: February we only had 2 Information is available on the table to

bring to your meetings. Fred: Thank you to Jeff. Shared a story about someone needing a ride, the

phone number in your phone so you recognize it. Diane: the phone number is 800-374-5098

  1. b) Public Information: Diane: I need more money than I am buying an ad on the placemats

on Twin Pines Diner($525) and I need more literature on our racks. The rack at the Blackstone is
