- General Service Representative Pre-Amble (ALL):
- We are the General Service Representatives. We are the link in the chain of communication for our groups with the General Service Conference and the world of A.A. We realize the ultimate authority is a loving God as he may express Himself in our Group Conscience. As trusted servants, our job is to bring information to our groups in order that they can reach an informed group conscience. In passing along this group conscience, we are helping to maintain unity and strength so vital to our fellowship. Let us, therefore, Have the patience and tolerance to listen while others share, The courage to speak up when we have something to share, And The wisdom to do what is right for our group and A.A. as a whole

Draft Survey
Fellow AA Members of District Nineteen:
It has been almost three years since District 19 was formed after Area 11 Re-Districted. In January 2025, a new slate of Officers was elected to the district board. Since then we have established a solid slate of responsible leaders who wish to help focus the attention to where it is needed. In order to do this, we feel that we would mirror the GSO and conduct a Survey of our own.
This is taken directly from the AA Website:
Why does AA Conduct a Survey every three to four years.
AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) conducts a survey every three to four years primarily to understand and track changes in its membership characteristics, including demographics, length of sobriety, and other relevant factors.
This data helps AA:
- Inform decision-making for future planning and programming.
- Keep members informed about current trends within the fellowship.
- Communicate with the professional community and the general public about AA’s purpose and impact.
- Measure the effectiveness of different strategies and outreach efforts.
The survey also provides valuable information about the types of individuals who find AA helpful, which can inform best practices for supporting individuals in recovery.
All of the above is why we would like to conduct a survey of our own. We will take the questions directly from AA. Surveys will be given to the GSRs in sufficient quantities in order for them to be handed out at their meetings over the course of the month. All of the surveys can be dropped off at the First Baptist Church at the Light & Lively Meeting (Mon – Fri @ 5:30; Sat & Sun @4:00) or given to us at the next meeting to be held in June 2025.
Please encourage your members to participate. If we understand what our District looks like from the inside, then we might be able to help more people than you think, and more ways that we know.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at anytime at the D19 DCM email address, or my cell phone at 203-214-2424.
DISTICTY NINETEEN ALCHOLICS ANONYMOUS SURVEY
This is an anonymous survey to help the GSRs and the Officers of District 19 understand the make-up of the District. This will allow us to put the focus on areas that we now understand are needed. Please do not sign this survey. Return it to your GSR, and they will ensure that the Officers of the District receive it. We will publish the results of the Survey in July once they have been tabulated.
